How much does a ride cost?
Every ride across the Veritas campus costs a flat ₦150 — paid from your OpRides wallet. There is no surge pricing and no hidden fees. The same fare applies to every route, every time.
How do I top up my wallet?
Go to the Wallet tab in the app and tap Top Up. A virtual bank account number is generated for your payment. Transfer any amount from your bank app and your wallet updates automatically — usually within a minute.
Can I use the app as both a student and a rider?
No — students of Veritas University are not permitted to register as riders. The rider role is exclusively for external keke drivers operating on campus. Students can only use OpRides to request and pay for rides.
What happens if no keke is available?
You're placed in a real-time queue. The system tracks your position and automatically matches you with the next rider who comes online — no action needed from you. You'll see your queue position live in the app.
How do riders get paid?
Riders earn ₦100 per passenger, credited to their in-app earnings wallet the moment a stop is completed. From there, they can request a withdrawal to any Nigerian bank account, which is processed within 24 hours.
Is OpRides safe to use?
Yes. OpRides is a closed, campus-exclusive platform. Students sign up with their matric number and riders register their plate number. All rides are tracked via GPS in real-time. Payments are secured by Paystack — no card details are stored in the app.
Can I cancel a ride after requesting?
Yes. You can cancel any ride before it starts from the Live tab. There are no cancellation fees. We ask that you cancel as early as possible so the rider can accept other passengers.
Where is OpRides available?
OpRides is currently available exclusively at Veritas University, Abuja. The platform is designed around the Veritas campus map and ride stops. Expansion to other campuses is on the roadmap.
